YAY yet another computer problem for me!! Must be my lucky day!! I got a new sound card installed yesterday and the sound works great and all but my mic does not! I went through all of the settings and made sure the mic was not on mute and made sure my mic was plugged in correctly and of course no luck. I don't know what to do anymore edit: It is a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=15853My onboard sound made my speakers crackle... Any sort of help would be nice Thanks..

I have a Q Wild, do you have any tools or something like that to hear, or you're at 110% deaf.. cause I saw pictures of you with a motorocycle, does it need to have all your senses? Just curious :?

I'll most likely take it somewhere...I have tried a lot and no luck. Nobody seems to know the problem either. Not even Griffin or Chance

I dont know what the problem is, have you gone through the sound blaster programs to see if theres any reference to it? Is it USB or does it go into one of the souncard jacks?

There isn't a sound card jack for the mic, just for the speakers and 2 other things. I have a mic jack in the front and the back of the comp and both have failed.

hm...well I would of suggested that you just didnt have the jacks hooked up to the motherboard but since you were on the other day it wouldnt be that. Maybe try a usb one and see if that works

no no simple fix most of those higher end sound cards allow you to set it for diff channels like 2 speakers,4,6 so on and so on. and the software that comes with the card is what determines that. It changes what each port is for depending on how many speakers are running. I suggest going into the cards software that came with it and try setting it to 2 channel. IE 2 speakers. It should then show a picture of what port to plug the speakers into and what port to plug the mic in.

BH,
hate to take this off the forum topic but let me make this short... more Q, ICQ me...
Yes there is advanced equipment to help me hear. there is a hearing aid, etc... but it is useless for me because I do not practice the speech and hearing part. What the point of deny the precious gift I got?
Riding the bike, jetski, driving truck, bus, car, truck, boat... doesnt require hearing as much as you may thought.
Drowsing yourself with radio in the car, doesnt that affect your driving ability?
hearing engine, wind, and the road surface... ya all hearing too many things at once... distracting ya... me on other hand use my eyes 100 percent of the time.
so yes, I use whatever sense I got left to help me pay attention to road.
I am Deaf... I ride pretty much anything, I do pretty much anything I want to do.
Only thing I cannot do which I actuall dont want to do is hearing.. who does? :-D
I sleep better at night.
