Oh thank you for that link Rat! I was looking for their forums but couldn't find them That problem that person posted is exactly mine too! I tried the solutions but still no luck. I think im going to take my computer up to the place where I got the card and have them check it out. The card may be bad.

woo it is fixed!! I took it to Circuit City (where I got my sound card) and they fixed the problem! I was missing a lot of drivers from the on board audio. I accidently disabled the onboard audio when I got the sound card.

Lindsay it seems like your computer components are out to get your microphone. first the speakers, now the soundcard? I have the extrememusic card, which i am assuming is very similar to the extremegamer. First of all, what mode is the card in (gaming mode, entertainment mode, audio creation mode). there is also a "THX console" surround sound setup thing where you can change the mode of the first minijack (from digital I/O to mic/line out) in addition to the one in the one in the console. my sound card came with my computer, so there is a cable that goes from the soundcard to the mic/headphone jack in front of the computer. who installed the soundcard? was this cable included, and if so, was it wired up to the front outputs? this picture shows where the output wire would connect to on the card: images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/29-102-006-04.jpgDid you make sure that the microphone wasn't the problem?
